Why was there a need for Friends of the DuPage County Children's Center Organization?
While the Children’s Center receives government funding for basic needs such as staff and building maintenance, there was little money for the provision of programs to support child victims and their affected family members. Additionally, there was no funding for community awareness or prevention.
What are the goals of the Friends of the DuPage County Children's Center and how can we help the community of DuPage County? Our goal is to raise funds to help meet the needs of the abused children and affected family members. These children and families are frequently in extensive counseling, dealing with the court processes and often a loss in income. Our secondary goal is to educate the community of DuPage County about child sexual and severe physical abuse through outreach and education programs.
